About this opportunity:
Product Engineering Unit (PEU) Radio Access Network (RAN) Performance is the R&D team that secures that Ericsson retains world-leading 4G, 5G, and future 6G network performance on both specialized hardware and in cloud deployments.
The Product Engineering Group (PEG), Baseband Infrastructure (BBI) is responsible to provide a Run-time Platform (OS) and Software Development Kit (SDK) to enable the full potential of Ericsson Many Cores Architecture (EMCA) and its software developers. We have end-to-end software development responsibility from early phase studies to end of life.
PEG BBI has the design ownership for the Baseband Infrastructure SW on our compute and Radio offerings. PEG BBI is a global organization located mainly in Kista, Lund, Linköping, Beijing, Austin, and Ottawa.
We are seeking a passionate leader for one of our teams based in Lund. You will be instrumental in our mission to deliver EMCA platform for Open RAN and next generation RAN Compute and Radios. Additionally, you will engage in providing a world-class development environment, including a software platform and tools powered by generative AI, for thousands of Baseband and Radio software developers.
As the manager for BBI Section in Lund, you are responsible to evolve the BBI platform software, debug and test framework by leading a diverse team of 20 employees including developers and project leaders. The team Systemizes, Designs and Test new platform functionality within EMCA Software domain. The manager of this unit will also be SPOC towards a selective number of programs.
You will report to the Head of PEG BBI and be an important part of the BBI Leadership Team, contributing to the organization’s development in all aspects.

The skills you bring:
• Strong personal drive and eagerness to contribute both inside and outside your formal responsibilities
• Sound software/ASIC development experience and interest, including Agile practices and embedded software
• Strong, transparent communicator
• Master of Science or corresponding University studies
• Recent successful track record in R&D line management or software development
• Excellent skills in English
• Experience from open-source development
